What is Cold-Pressed Dog Food?

Cold-pressed dog food is gently prepared at lower temperatures, helping to preserve the natural nutrients in high-quality ingredients. This means your dog benefits from more of the vitamins, minerals, and goodness nature intended compared to conventional dry kibble.

Is it suitable for sensitive tummies?

Yes — our recipes are designed to be gentle and easy to digest. The cold-pressed process and carefully selected ingredients help support healthy digestion, making it a great choice for dogs with sensitivities. It also doesn't swell/expand in water, it breaks down into a paste - much better for gobblers!

Can I add water?

Our cold-pressed food can be fed as it is, but you can add warm water if preferred. This softens the food into a paste, making it ideal for older dogs or those who prefer a softer texture (or even just a lick mat!)

How do I switch my dog to Phoebe's?

We recommend a gradual transition over 1-2 weeks. Start by mixing a small amount with your dog's current food, increasing the proportion slowly until fully switched. See our feeding transition guide for more information, as it is nutritionally dense less food is required. Correct portion size is essential; overfeeding can lead to more frequent stools. Follow the feeding guidelines set out on the packaging and our website.

Is your food hypoallergenic?

Our recipes are made using carefully selected, high-quality ingredients and are free from common fillers. We also offer alternative protein options for dogs with specific sensitivities.

How does it compare to raw feeding?

Cold-pressed food offers many of the same nutritional benefits as raw, including high digestibility, but without the need for refrigeration/freezing — making it a more convenient option for many owners.

Can it be fed alongside raw?

Yes — cold-pressed food digests at a similar rate to raw, making it suitable to feed alongside it. It also offers many of the same benefits, with the added convenience of a dry food — ideal for travel or busy lifestyles.

Why does my dog seem more thirsty?

It's normal for dogs to drink a little more when switching to cold-pressed food. As a dry, nutrient-dense recipe, it naturally contains less moisture than raw or wet diets. It is your dog adjusting to the lower water content. Always ensure fresh, clean water is available. For an easier transition, especially for puppies or sensitive dogs, you can add a little warm water or broth to their meals.

Is it suitable for puppies?

Yes — our food can be suitable for puppies from 4 weeks old, provided they are healthy and have been appropriately weaned. We always recommend checking with your vet if unsure.

Can I mix it with wet food?

Absolutely. While our food is complete and balanced on its own, it can be mixed with wet food for added variety and enjoyment.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place. We recommend keeping the food in its original bag and avoiding airtight containers to maintain freshness. It likes to breathe!

What is the shelf life?

Our cold-pressed food has a shelf life of up to 9 months. Each bag is clearly labelled with a best-before date so you can feed with confidence.
